"2016 Clean for the Queen" Litter Pick

Children in Class 2 helped to clean up our local area with Newcastle Borough Council.  They collected 3 big bags of rubbish along Rock Lane in just one afternoon!  Well done to the children for all their hard work in making our local area a better, cleaner place.

St. Mary's encourages children, parents and carers to take an active role in the wider community.  Whether it's through church groups, through the fundraising events organised by the Friends of St. Mary's School, or through social clubs such as JAFFA, everyone is encouraged to get involved in and make a positive contribution to the local community.

This year the school will be collecting produce for our harvest festival to take to the Market Drayton Food bank.

A foodbank gives three days of nutritionally balanced food and support for people who are in crisis and facing difficult choices about meeting financial obligations or going hungry. The foodbank network is now helping communities across the West Midlands to meet the needs of their neighbours by setting up a foodbank in their own locality.

The parents and carers have been very generous and we are very proud of what we will be able to provide the food bank with this year.
