School Council

Our School Council is formed at the beginning of the Autumn Term every year.  It is made up of 2 pupils from each age group from Y1 - 6.  The children elect pupils from their year group to represent their thoughts and ideas on the Council.

Our School Council is all about making decisions around the school. This year Mrs Dicks is arranging the council meetings and Shauna (Y6) is the secretary who will keep the minutes and remind the Council of their duties.  Mrs Hughes, the Headteacher, attends the meetings and listens carefully to the Council’s ideas. She allocates a small budget to buy equipment that the Council request. The Council have to keep records of the amount of money that they raise and spend and report at the end of the school year their impact and funding.

In the first-term, the Council organised the choosing of new House Team names.

We think that it’s really important to let the children have a say in what happens around our school.

Our School Council’s Vision and Aim:  To find ways to make our school even better by sharing ideas and talking about things that concern us.
