Class Three

Hello and welcome to class three.

                                                           World Book Day 2016

We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March.  We invited the children to dress up as their favourite book character for a £1 donation to our chosen charity this year - Water Aid.  The children put so much thought into their costumes - most popular this year being 'Gangster Granny' by David Walliams.  They spent the day enjoying various literacy activities and 'buddy reading' with the younger children.

In Science, the year 5 and 6's have been learning all about reflection and refraction.  The children conducted an investigation around the school to discover which items and surfaces were reflective and why.

They observed the refraction of light through different shaped pieces of Perspex.

Finally the children applied their learning to make periscopes.
