PTFA AGM

30th September 2024

Following this year’s PTFA AGM, we a pleased to announce that we officially raised a total of £3,000 (23/24 academic year) which has funded the playground markings, school trips, enrichment visits and MFL sessions. We hope that the children have all made some wonderful memories along the way, enjoying the crazy Christmas games, Easter bingo and water fights at the school fair!

This academic year we would like to exceed the amount previously raised, as the cost of enrichment has increased considerably. Unfortunately, we do not always have the support to continue to fund raise.

This year we are a team of just three busy mums (Sarah, Clemmie, and Deb) trying to plan and run the events. Thankfully Mrs Hill and the other staff within the school work hard to facilitate and support everything we try to run. Please take a minute to look at the dates we have highlighted in pink on the dates list and if you can help us out with planning and running any of the events, please let us know.

If you have your own ideas that you are able to organise with or without our support (such as a disco, selling a mid- week sweet treat or ice lollies after school or organising a movie night) then just let us know. These could also be small private fund raisers within your own homes such as a coffee morning or body shop party, with a raffle or even bigger community events. We have tried to keep the current plans realistic for such a small team. With others on board we could offer much more. Ultimately this will enable us to raise more money and provide more enriching opportunities for our children.

Finally, we would like to gauge what parents and carers feel are priority events moving forward. Please rate the following in order of how you personally would prioritise spending, 1 being most important and 10 being least important. 2 (OF 2)

We would very much appreciate you completing this and returning to the school office.

  • Art/craft/musical workshop
  • Books/subject resources that enhance their learning
  • updating technology
  • Humanities workshop
  • Trip transport funding
  • Theatre visit
  • Day trip funding support
  • Classroom extras
  • Language lessons taught by a specialist
  • Outdoor/ sports workshops

Many thanks for your continuing support from the PTFA team.

St Mary’s PTFA Primary School needs you!

We have an extremely enthusiastic and active PTFA in our school.  We would like to share some of the wonderful events that have been organised this year to raise money for your children.

We continue to encourage all parents who are able to support, to get involved in whatever way they can.  You do not need to be a committee member, but you can help with event ideas, organising or running events.  All of the much needed money goes back to each and every pupil.

Events held this school year – an amazing Christmas fayre, spooky cake sale, Dark Skies art session, Wonka bar competition, mothering Sunday flowers, Easter bingo, second hand uniform sales and much more …..

With the funds raised the school have been very fortunate to buy pupils enrichment opportunities and to enhance our outdoor play area.

We have purchased fun and brightly coloured fixed playground markings. PTFA money has contributed to travel for trips to The Space Centre in Leicester, C1 and C2 museum visit in Newcastle, Dorothy Clive garden centre, Cheswardine Hall, Market Drayton swimming pool and Eccleshall church.

The older pupils also experienced amazing topic ‘wow’ days. We had a Viking invasion in C4 and C3 were fascinated by a day in the life of a world war II child!  These experiences bring learning to life and will be remembered for years to come.

Many thanks for your continuing support from all of the children at St Mary’s
